About

Ben Kelly — software engineer based in Dublin, Ireland.

Hi, I'm Ben. This is my personal corner of the internet — a place for writing, notes, and experiments. Expect posts about software, infrastructure, and whatever else has caught my attention lately.

Most of what I publish here starts as something I wanted to read but couldn't find: a write-up of a problem I ran into, a small tool I built, or a rough idea I'm thinking through out loud. If something is useful to you, that's a bonus.

Background

Software engineer with over a decade of experience spanning cloud infrastructure, AI, Kubernetes, and architectural design. I've built and shipped across a wide range of domains at Microsoft Azure, from large-scale platform engineering and PoC development to accessibility initiatives and regulatory compliance programmes across Europe.

I'm the kind of engineer who gets handed the hard problems — the ones without a clear path — and finds a way through. My dyslexia means I've always thought laterally, which tends to produce solutions that more conventional approaches miss.

Outside of work I'm based in Dublin, tinkering with personal projects, electronics, and anything I can take apart and make better.

Open to new opportunities where the problems are genuinely difficult. Whether that's as an individual contributor, tech lead, or engineering manager, I bring the same approach: clear thinking, direct communication, and a lot of care for the people and work around me.
